TRAINING

THE BARDSTERS

PERFORMANCE ORIENTED PROGRAMS FOR STUDENTS AND TEACHERS.

BECOME A BARDSTER!

The Bardster program sends teaching artists and directors into the classroom with a specifically designed curriculum.

Residences last from one week to several weeks.  These performance-based sessions promote increased skills in listening, storytelling, memorization, articulation, public speaking, vocabulary, imagination, empathy and teamwork.  Students experience Shakespeare as a contemporary and are impacted by the relevancy and power of Shakespeare’s enduring works and wisdom. For details on a Bardster classroom/workshop, please send us an email: fyi@cwnyi.org

'REFLECTIONS' FROM THE BRONXDALE HIGH SCHOOL BARDSTERS

"The kids really loved it!"  (10th Grade English Teacher, Julie Masarof, Bronxdale High School)

What was one activity/routine/reading, performing, discussions, working with partners/groups, paraphrasing that you really enjoyed and why?

"I enjoyed everything. Working with Ms.Tricia and Ms. Lee was amazing, because I always like to do things out of my comfort zone. And also I was able to learn new things with them, that I really never thought of. Another routine or activity I enjoyed was performing because its the best experience to do."  (SY 2017-18)

"I enjoyed working with Ms. Tricia and Ms. Lee because acting is fun and they made acting fun and working with them helped me understand the subject matter."   (SY 2017-18)

When students were asked, what is something we did this year that you think you will remember for the rest of  your life.

"This year, I will remember acting the Macbeth play with real acting teachers."   (10th grader SY 2016-17)

"Having actresses teach us how to act in Shakespeare and Macbeth."   (10th grader SY 2016-17)
